Technical Specification of FLOLIC FOAM Thermoset Insulating Materials

This specification is applicable for insulation of devices and pipelines with medium temperature between 150℃ and -196℃ at general industrial departments. A complete insulation structure compromises antirust coat, insulation coat, moisture barrier and protective cover from inside to outside.

Insulation structure

■ Insulation structure generally consists of antirust coat, insulation coat, moisture barrier and protective cover, design of which shall comply with requirements such as excellent insulation effect, convenient construction, fire prevention, durability and beauty.

■ External surface of steel equipments with carbon steel and ferrite alloy, pipelines and their attachments, which require insulation, shall be covered by coal-tar epoxy resin lacquer for twice (antirust coat).

■ Thickness of Insulating Materials shall be classified with 10mm as unit. The minimal thickness of FLOLIC FOAM Thermoset Insulating Materials is 30mm. When total thickness of insulation coat δ≥100mm, layered laying shall be carried out; when same insulation supply is adopted at internal and external coats, thickness of them shall be near the same.

■ Insulating course must be tight while insulation structure must be with certain mechanical strength so as not to be damaged by self-gravity or occasional external forces.

■ Detachability shall not be one of the features of insulation structure generally, but positions often needing for maintenance, such as flange, valve and manholes shall be with structures that could be detachable.

■ When constructing and installing FLOLIC FOAM Insulating Materials, width of dilatation joints shall not be smaller than 20mm and soft insulating materials with same thickness of FLOLIC FOAM Insulating Materials, or foam adhesive shall be put into those joints. Properties of filling materials shall meet requirements on medium temperature.

■ Insulation length of extruded positions on equipment and attachments of pipelines (such as standoff) shall be 4 times of thickness of insulation course of related equipment or pipeline or shall reach the bottom of cushion.

■ Insulating materials for insulation courses of equipment and pipelines under change of high and lower temperature can be safely used in both high temperature zone and low temperature zone.

Main materials used by FLOLIC FOAM Insulating Materials

■ DN≤400, use FLOLIC FOAM insulation pipe shell

■ DN>400, use FLOLIC FOAM insulation plate

■ FL deep cold bonding agent (keep cold), FL bonding agent (keep warm)

■ Glass fiber cloth

■ Moisture barrier: Oily black flame retardant mastic

■ Protective cover: Aluminum sheet or aluminum plate
